The Opening Reception is Friday, January from 5-7.

 I think this will be a unique opportunity to see our friend's wonderful work, her work was collected throughout the US, however, in ND, as I said, this may be a unique showing.

 As artist friends, we would like to see a permanent collection of her work in ND, as of now, as far as I know, there isn't one. 

You can see by the painting of the elk that Pete is holding...what quality there will be, I have not seen that piece, all I can say is wow, you knocked it out of the park again Sheila!

Rieman Retrospective at BAGA

Pete Novotny holds one of Sheila Rieman's last paintings in Bismarck Art & Galleries Association's main gallery on Friday afternoon. Novotny delivered a number of Rieman's works to BAGA where a retrospective show and sale will open on January 4. Rieman, a noted North Dakota artist, died in 2011 and Novotny said they had been together for 32 years. From her studio in Sentinel Butte, Rieman created works in pastel and later on in oils that drew critical acclaim from patrons from in the state as well as from around the country. Novotny said he plans to be at the show opening reception from 5-7 p.m on Jan. 4.
